Mangaluru: Seminar on orphan-free India held at Roshni Nilaya

Mangaluru, Sep 2: The president and member of the Inner Wheel Club of Mangaluru north in collaboration with Lit - meet and sociology economic forum School of Social Work Roshni Nilaya conducted a seminar on community participation towards an orphan-free India here at Roshni Nilaya on August 31.

Principal of School of Social Work Roshni Nilaya Juliet C J inaugurated the program by unveiling the painting.

Addressing the gathering Juliet C J said, "The organisers have taken up a good topic for the seminar. Orphan hood may create pain or depression, when we look at us do we really feel safe within us. Organisation should come forward in taking up the initiative in taking care of the orphans. A child can reach to greater heights even without the parents, there should be will power, positive attitude to go ahead.”



Educationalist Kavitha Shashtri said, "Poverty is key factor for the rising orphans, every organisation and or individual should come forward in taking up the initiative in taking care of the child.”

Head of MCom department St Agnes College Dr Catherine Nirmala, senior manager training and development Hita Hejamady and Jyothi shared their story pertaining to adopting a child and being an orphan respectively.

Meanwhile, head of MCom department St Agnes College Dr Catherine Nirmala, senior manager training and development Hita Hejamady, educationalist Kavitha Shashtri and Rathna Alva were felicitated.

Coordinator Prof Shobana N and secretary Vasanthi P Kamath was also present.

President of Inner Wheel Club of Mangaluru north Asha Nayak welcomed the gathering, and coordinator Cecilia F Goveas welcomed the gathering.
