Rajasthan man mimics chief minister's son's voice, flees with Audi car

Daijiworld Media Network - Rajasthan (SR)

Rajasthan, Sep 5: A man fled in an Audi car from a showroom in Jodhpur, after mimicking the voice of chief minister Ashok Gehlot's son, Vaibhav Gehlot. A history-sheeter named Suresh Putra Bhanwarlal Ghanchi, with more than 30 cases of cheating filed against him, was identified as the accused.

A resident of Pali Ramdev Road in the city, Ghanchi called the owner of the Audi showroom in Jodhpur, mimicking the voice of Vaibhav Gehlot and asked him to keep an Audi for one of his relatives who he said, would come over to get it. Ghanchi then went to the showroom and told the owner that Vaibhav Gehlot had sent him to get the car and handed over a check of Rs 50,75,000. The owner did not find anything amiss and Ganchi left the showroom with the brand new Audi.

The incident came to light when the owner of the showroom deposited the check in a bank and it bounced. When the owner informed Vaibhav Gehlot of it, the latter told him that he did not send anyone to purchase the car.

A complaint was registered and after investigation the accused was identified as Ghanchi. Apparently earlier on August 19, Ghanchi had escaped with two vehicles from a showroom after mimicking the voice of former MLA Bhimraj Bhati.
