This type of flood is not unusual. When one Star ends and next starts, such things happen. It was end of "Ardra" and beginning of "Punarvasu" rain. Punarvasu rains with very thin s but thickly. Makes so much water in no time. It floods. It is not regular. But happens in some years.

Ask the old aged villagers who does agriculture. They will tell you. When it rains in high tide, the sea does not take water in. So it floods quickly and if it rains again at that time flood will be worst. Apart from the flood added wind/gale creates destruction. It was happening in olden days also but there was no much publicity except but in news papers after one or two days. But now Daiji has given the news quickly with picture.

Nothing could be done for this. because the kerala and managalore are like this. the land we are here are created by soil errosion from western ghats. Mansoon comes from westernside and gets stopped by Ghats and creat heavy rain. Hence Flood are invitable. But now a days population growth all the wet land has been filled. making it no place for extra water to go. My suggestion is to control these water at Ghats by steeped dams. this will allow us to control the water flowing down and also use for electricity and drinking water project through out year.
