PM Modi hailed for displaying simplicity, refuses sofa for chair

Vladivostok, Sep 6: Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Russia displayed his simplicity when it came to seating arrangements.

Unlike others at the photo session who had chairs to sit on, PM Modi was given a comfortable sofa. As soon as he entered the room he observed that he was being treated specially.

To be treated equally like the others in the room, PM Modi asked for a quick change of furniture. The officials in the room then went ahead and replaced his sofa with a chair.

On Tuesday, Commerce minister Piyush Goyal shared a clip of the moment on his official Twitter handle where he hailed the Prime Minister for his simplicity.

PM Modi was in Russia on a two-day visit to attend the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok.
