Bangalore: KRV Activists Storm KPSC Exam Centre, Destroy Scripts
Daijiworld Media Network - SP

Bangalore, Jul 6 : Activists of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (KRV) attacked a centre in the city, where the examination for the posts of gram panchayat assistants was being conducted by Karnataka Public Service Commission, on Sunday July 5. They disrupted the examination for some time, under the misconception that the examination was meant for recruiting railway employees.

The KRV activists, who arrived at Kamalabai School within the High Grounds police station limits here, had been under the notion that the examination was meant to absorb employees for the railways. The activists said, the north Indians had appeared for the examination in large numbers in the state, at the expense of the candidates from the state. After learning that it was an examination meant for the gram panchayat assistants, they expressed regret and vacated the place.

At the same time, KRV activists attacked Railway Recruitment Board examinations being held in other places in Bangalore and Mysore, including another hall of the Kamala Bai School, disrupting the process. They barged into the halls and tore away the answer sheets. The policemen arrested 12 KRV activists including leader Pravin Shetty in Bangalore. The policemen said later, that the arrested persons were remanded to judicial custody.

The examination resumed thereafter without further hitches. In Mysore, the activists raised slogans and disrupted proceedings at Yuvaraja College. Examination in six others centres in Mysore went on peacefully. A railway official in charge of the examination said, that a re-examination will be held for the 27 candidates who appeared for the examination at Yuvaraja College, later.

Railway Recruitment Notification or any Central Govt./PSU Recruitment Advertisment notification appears in the ''Employment News'', a weekly magazine. How many of our job seeking youth in Karnataka are aware of this? In the absence of demand for this Newspaper, the newspaper stalls/agencies do not indent for this Newspaper except in major cities of the State.

Whereas this paper is a hit in north and western India. If any of our Vidikes/Dalas/Sanghathanes are interested in doing really a good job for our state youth, they should popularise this weekly ''Employment News'' paper which is published from Delhi in English/Hindi. Since our state youth are not much aware of it, the other state youth fill up the vaccum.

Dear All: When the law of the land does not protect the land and the landsmen, the law must be broken nay, it deserves being broken. It was broken by Gandhi. It was broken by Nelson Mandela. It was broken by Martin Luther King. It was broken by every true son of the soil who stood up for the cause of his landsmen.

In Karnataka today, it is being broken by T A Narayana Gowda. Even during the days of Gandhi, Nelson Mandela and M.L.King, there was no dearth of Tejaswinies, Atmasakshies and father-tongue-flapping Churumuries. They barked then, and they bark now. Fie on that law which does not protect the interests of Kannada, Kannadiga and Karnataka.

Throw away that law which acts against our interests. That law must be violated and jails filled. And Why does an act of defending Kannada interests invariably come to be characterized as chauvinistic? Why not see it as an act of self-defence spawned by the foolish habit of New Delhi taking Karnataka for granted, by its representatives in all three branches of the Constitution betraying our trust?

The Vedike’s penchant for recognition through disruptive activities is a direct result of the feeling of humiliation that smolders in the heart of every Kannadiga. What are federal and local government bodies willing to do bring about an equitable solution to our problems? Our elected representatives are in thrall to their leaders, especially if they are members of the BJP or the Congress, and to the idea of making themselves rich before the next election or a midterm election.

How does one get rid of the rot? For all those well learned people who are questioning about who gave the right to ka.ra.ve to fight the cause of kannadigas , it is like asking who gave the right to Gandhi , Bhagat Singh, Subhash Chandra Bose to fight for the cause of Indians. No one gave the rights and they did it on their own, self-motivated. Same is the case with ka.ra.ve. Same is the case with MNS or any other such organization.

I know all folks need jobs but there are limits, one only need to go thru Mangalore railway station and you would not be mistaken to think that it was in Kerala, the Malayalis have the monopoly on rail jobs in the Mlore rail station and that is quite unfair since you will never see any one from Karnataka in any of the Kerala rail stations.

This nothing but Fruits of Regionalism and Linguistic Fanatism. Its really strange that everything is right when Kannadigas and Maharashtrians gets job in other states and abroad, but when the question of people from other state comes MNS/KRV resort to obstruction and vandalism. Yes many a times we need to protest and safeguard the rights and interests of our people, but it should be in a decent and logical manner. After all we are One People One Nation. And every Indian has to prove it practically.

The problem created at Bombay last time for the Bihar candidates appearing Exam. for Rly job was for the reason how they only know about the exam. and why not known to Mumbai/Maharashtra? It was because, that Advertisement was not published in Mumbai/Maharashtra. That''s the cause. In Karnataka the Exam. was for the recruitment of D Category Railway Work Force, not that of General Manager Post. Do you think Karnataka has not got suitable candidates in the State for that Post? If it is not known to Bangalore means such advertisment was not given in Bangalore. The Railway is of the Nation. Also of Karnataka. Not only of UP or Bihar. Karnataka unemployed youths also need jobs.

The root cause of this is scarcity of jobs. The target is for people to be employed in their home states. This will ease out the menace of floating poulation in particular states/cities. Also it will ease out abnormal requirements of power, water, housing and other resources.

Developmental projects should be initiated in all the states and local people should always be given preference. What we are seeing is the exodus of people from a few states trying to flood the exam centers throughout the country with the hope of securing jobs.

Arresting those hired goons will not solve the problem. Catch the big fish behind this. Nobody have the right to take law into their own hand. All should jointly condemn such Jungle-rule behaviours of those youngsters hired by the political leaders affiliated to some opposition political parties. What message these leaders are sending to the youth of our state in particular & the country at large?

I salute on your comments, you are absolutely right, this is not the way of protesting. we are Indians first and should be allowed to work anywhere in the country. Kannadigas always vote for the wrong party, if they woould have followed what our neighbour states are following, karnataka would have been on track by getting proper share in the development projects even it is Railway or others.

Those who condemn KRV/MNS/Raj Thackeray need to understand the following: As to who has given the license to KRV to give open threats, the answer is the law. KRV has never broken any law. It has never failed to bow before the law, albeit after what the law calls as unlawful. The law has to be broken for any change in flawed systems which have given birth to those laws, albeit the particular laws being broken may be acceptable to the law-breaker.

All those whose complaint is that KRV breaks laws need to understand that even Gandhi broke laws and pleaded guilty. KRV also breaks laws and pleads guilty. In this whole process of breaking laws and pleading guilty, those whose intention it is to serve the Land make progress in that service. Try to understand.

Going by the same line of thought, I will claim that anything wrong happening in the world following KRV’s actions is actually due to the stupid system of governance which exists in India – which discriminates against Kannada and Kannadigas in Karnataka itself.

Nothing but cheap popularity. If Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (KRV) really concerned about Kannadigas then why they don''t go for fast unto death hunger strike which will draw the attention. Secondly amongst the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (KRV) leaders, how many members children study in Kannada medium. Calling the media shows their preplanned strategy for the cheap popularity. Ideal would have been to allow the candidates to write exam as they are unemployed youths.

India Railways has become the fiefdom of certain states. This injustice, biased Railways attitude is the root cause for violence seen frequently at affected parts of the country. Its wrong to take law in to the hands, by KRV or MNS.BUT IT IS ALSO WRONG TO TOLERATE THE INJUSTICE.

Equally, without understanding, commenting and using disgracful words, such as "Goons”, is not convincing. People who advise, must also be able to get jobs to needy like Arun here. Jude I appereciate your concern. But people from DK are successful all around the world, due to their sincerity and hard work. Where as concentration of particular state people in Railways, is not merit based. Its railway board sponsored mafia effect. Now you guide us how should we fight .

We are all outsiders in these places, yet we are able to work and take care of our families back home. What if the same attitude was shown to us?. Let us all remember that we are Indians first and an Indian should be allowed to work anywhere in the country. We should not be considered outsiders in our own country.

Damages are to claimed and these goons should not let go. Put them behind the bar, dont bail them out.Let them rot in the jail, until their case is decided.
