Panaji: Goan Volleyball Players call on Health Minister

Panaji, Jul 8: 12 Goan Players have been selected by the Sports Authority of Goa Olympic Committee to represent India at the Volleyball tournament to be played at Portugal from July 11, 2009.

Out of the 12 Volleyball players, six are from Sattari Yuva Morcha. They are Ram Dhawaskar, Pralhad Dhawaskar, Rupesh Naik, Filomeno Fernandes, Iraj Gawas, and Franco Fernandes.

Sattari Yuva Morcha team had played in various tournaments in Goa at state level and had emerged winners in most of the tournaments.

The players who have been selected for the Portugal tour, today called on the health minister  Vishwajit Rane, who is also the president of Sattari Yuva Morcha, at the secretariat in Porvorim.

Rane expressed his good wishes to the players and assured to extend all possible help to them. He advised them to maintain discipline in sports and try to bring laurels to the Goa State  and the country.
