MLA Ashok Bhau Jadhav Announces Redevelopment Plans for Cooper Hospital

MLA Ashok Bhau Jadhav on Thursday July 9 donated and inaugurated three key new medical equipments to Oshiwara Maternity Hospital, a division of Cooper Hospital, here.  Laparoscope with camera, hysteroscopy and Colposcope are the three medical equipments that have been installed in Cooper hospital on Thursday.  The cost of the mentioned equipments is approximately 15 lac rupees.
 
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Ashok Jadhav said, “since the last 10 years, I have been working for the betterment of Cooper Hospital. During last year, I met Dr Sarogi, head of the gynecology department, and he informed about the scarcity of the equipments. I am happy that in a year’s time we are able to donate these equipments to the hospital.”
 
On the issue of maintenance, Jadhav said that in BMC hospitals, the equipments are not maintained properly. Maintenance of the equipments is an issue, he agreed.  Meanwhile, he urged the supplier to take proper care of the equipments.
 
Dr Sitaram Gawde, dean of Cooper Hospital, said that the MLA has always been a supporting hand, right from the days he was a corporator.  He also expressed the wishes of the people that they want to see Oshiwara Hospital and Cooper Hospital under one roof some day.
 
Sion and Cooper are the two hospitals where maximum surgeries and deliveries take place. With these new equipments in place, Oshiwara maternity hospital is at par with Sion hospital.  Cooper Hospital attracts maximum crowd from the western suburbs. People from different areas like Malad, Goregaon and Jogeshwari prefer Cooper Hospital for treatment.
