Fun Marks SPA Annual Get-together 'The Expressions' Enthralls Audience

Mumbai, Jul 13: St Peter's Association (Barkur) Mumbai, a prominent association of the people from Karnataka coast in Mumbai  celebrated the Annual Patron's Feast of St Peter on Sunday July 12, at Andheri here.

A thanksgiving holy mass was offered at Holy Family Church, Chakala, Andheri (East), at 9.30 am on Sunday. 
 


The annual general body meeting (AGM) was held immediately after the mass at Holy Family High School, Chakala, Andheri (East) at 10.30 am, followed by a brief stage programme. Prominent Konkani singers from Mumbai, Henry D'Souza and Victor Concesao were the chief guests, along with Lawrence Coelho, editor, ‘Divo’ Konkani weekly and Prof Rajashekhar Hebbar, principal, Smt Rukmini Shedthi Memorial Govt National First Grade College, were accompanied by Richard Carvalho, president, Ivan Rebello, honorary general secretary, Norbert Menezes and Peter Furtado, vice-presidents and Felix Barnes, former president, to the stage.

Ivan Rebello, honorary general secretary, presented the annual report of the association and revealed the future plans. The web pages of the  association, a new section in www.barkuronline.com, were unveiled by president Richard Carvalho. Lawrence Coelho delivered a message on behalf of all the guests present on the stage. Richard Carvalho welcomed the gathering in the beginning and Ivan Suares, joint secretary, proposed the vote of thanks. Joylan Fernandes, committee member conducted the proceedings.

‘The Expressions’, a group of like-minded people formed to promote talents, which is synonymous with  quality entertainment, operating from Barkur, was invited by SPA to join the celebrations. A team of 14 members of ‘The Expressions’ presented an entertainment programme with soulful melodies by Eric, Praveen, Jasmine and others and rib-tickling skits staged by veteran comedians Alwyn, Prakash Shetty and the group, kept the audience glued to their seats for the next two hours.

The programme ended with a sumptuous fellowship lunch, shared by all the members and the guests.
