Tumakuru, Sep 24: People of Pemmanahalli Gollarahatti hamlet in Pavadaga taluk, who had sometime back stopped Chitradurga MP Narayanaswamy, from entering the hamlet because he was a Dalit, invited him back into the hamlet and honoured him on Monday September 23. The MP had come here to conduct survey in the village that has been deprived of development.
Speaking on the occasion, Narayanaswamy sought to explain that the incident in which he was insulted was not purposeful. He also stated that vested interests have been trying misuse this incident for reaping political benefit by wedging a divide between communities. "When I came here for the survey of villages where, the people had not spoken to me arrogantly. I am happy about that, he added.
The entire hamlet was decorated with green festoons and flowers for welcoming the MP on Monday. Sri Krishnayadavananda Swamiji of Ishwaranandapuri, Dr Shantaveera Swamiji, Basavamurthy Madara Channayya Swamiji and other leaders accompanied the MP to the hamlet.
Narayanasamy said that his thoughts are always progressive and that achieving improvement is his aim. "I want to ensure that benefit of schemes reach the people for whom they are meant. I respect the faith of certain people who felt that my entry into the village would prove ominous both for the villagers and me last time," he said.
