Panaji: Rs 4 Crore for Goa Police Modernization under MPF Scheme Granted

Panaji, Jul 20: Goa government has been provided four crore for modernization of police force. Union minister of state for home affairs Mullapally Ramchandran informed member of parliament Shantaram Naik the same in the Rajya Sabha last week.
 
Minister said that the Goa government had sought additional financial assistance from Ministry of Home Affairs in 2008-09 under the Scheme for Modernization of State Police Force (MPF Scheme) to procure weapons, vehicles, security equipment to counter any possible threat to Goa. Therefore, the Goa government has been provided Rs 2 crore over and above its original allocation of Rs 2 crore under MPF Scheme for 2008-09 for modernization of police forces, minister said.
