New Delhi, July 23 (IANS): Omkar Bhave, Vishwa Hindu Parishad's (VHP) vice president, died Thursday morning following severe breathing problems and chest congestion. He was 85.
Bhave had been admitted to the Ram Manohar Lohia hospital in the capital June 27.
He was brought to the VHP office in R.K. Puram Thursday at 11 a.m. after his condition deteriorated. He died in the office.
Top VHP leaders Giriraj Kishore and Ashok Singhal, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief K.S. Sudarshan and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders L.K. Advani, Rajnath Singh, Arun Jaitley and others paid tributes to Bhave.
Bhave had joined RSS in 1938. He will be cremated at Nigambodh Ghat at 5 p.m. Thursday.
