Veteran Congress MLA Parlad Singh Sawhney joins AAP in Delhi

New Delhi, Sep 7: Parlad Singh Sawhney, 68, four-time Congress MLA from Delhi’s Chandni Chowk Assembly, joined the Aam Aadmi Party on Sunday.

Joining AAP, in presence of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal Sawhney, Sawhney said he joined the party to work towards development of Delhi. He also added that he is very much impressed by the party’s work and wherever he goes he hears the development works done by the party.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said he is extremely happy that Sawhney joined his team AAP. Sawhney was a close aide of former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.

Welcoming him Sawhney to APP Kejriwal said "AAP started as a movement and there were times when after coming to power parties lost their vision but that is not the case with AAP. We have done revolutionary work since assuming office," as quoted by PTI.

AAP’s candidate Alka Lamba defeated Sawhney in 2015 from Chandni Chowk Assembly.
