Mangaluru, Oct 10: ‘Robin Hood’, Konkani book written by well known author J F D’ Souza Attavar was released at Mangaluru Press Club on October 10.
Marcel D’Souza (Macha Milar) explaining the works of J F D’ Souza, said that he has already written twelve children’s story books and Robin Hood is his 13th work.
Those on the dais were Melvyn Rodrigues, director operations, Daijiworld.com, J F D’ Souza Attavar, Apolinaris D’ Souza (brother in law of J F) and Tressy Pinto (wife of J F).
"Children are truly the future of a language. Today we are living in an era where most of the languages are under the threat of extinction. Let this book imbibe among children the love for their mother tongue," said Melvyn Rodrigues while releasing the book.
Melvyn appreciated the efforts of J F D'Souza by writing and publishing books for children.
The book Robin Hood contains two stories, one the famous Robin Hood folk tale from England and another ‘Pied Piper’ from Germany. The stories are written by the author in Konkani in their concise form and they are not the translations from the original.
Macha Milar introduced the guests on the dais and J F D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks. He also answered the questions raised by the press.
