A maverick and only one of the kind of talent who grew to enormous heights with generous grace from God Saraswati. In the process, brought great pride to Mangalore. His rendition of some of the very popular ragas is next to none and no wonder he was widely popular among young and old.
It is an irreplaceable loss to all of us.
Heartfelt condolences to his immediate family and all his fans.

It is indeed a great loss to the world of Carnatic classical music. Being from south Kanara he was world renowned a fact not many are aware of. I was keen listeners of his compositions especially in the mornings. He leaves behind rich reportorial legacy in music. May The Lord give him eternal rest.

Kadri Gopalnath was a simple humble when I used to meet him in the seventies as my Art Studio was situated near PVS junction.

During that time he was learning the finer aspects of classical music under the guidance of another simple but great musician and teacher Sri Gopalkrishna Iyer.

Last year after a gap of almost 40 years I had a chance meeting with Gopalnath again, and found him the same simple humble person, that too after touring the world with his saxophone, entertaining millions, receiving so many prestigious awards, accolades and to top it a Padmashri.

Yes we have lost a great Artist, a great human being and it is a great loss. May God reward him with eternal peace, for giving millions of music lovers pleasure and peace through his divine music. Om Shanthi...
