Bengaluru: Heavy rain in north Karnataka - Lightning snuffs four lives

Bengaluru, Oct 11: Due to torrential rain experienced in various parts of north Karnataka on Thursday, November 10, the normal life was thrown out of gear. 

In the meanwhile, lightning claimed the lives of four persons. Umadevi Basappa Hadagal (19) from Chittapur taluk of Kalaburagi district, Siddappa Nariboli (35), residing near Wadi town in Kalaburagi district, Manjunath Gurappa Maindaragi (20) from Aland taluk, and Suneeta (18) from Raichur taluk, became victims of lightning in different incidents.

 

Two others were injured due to lightning while 25 sheep lost lives. The rain which hit Hubballi -harwad city, Haveri, Gadag, Ballari and other districts inflicted huge losses on the people and threw the normal lives out of gear.

    Lighting causing too much damage to peoples, property and animals these days, but our scientits, goverments not finding cause and any solutions, they are happy with distributing compansations, because some portion going to their pockets tooo.....

    Very sad....

    Some calamities like Earthquake, Sudden Flood, Storm, Mud slide etc can not be avoided..

    Technology helped in many areas to beat the dangers posed by above problems...

    Every rainy season takes away people by lightening. Here what required is AWARENESS... The rural people especially don't care as lightening is a COMMON thing as seen from centuries for them. We have a health department. The officials of that dept must be trained first to give awareness to rural people about how to be safe in Lightening.

    Once I saw a Professor of Electronics openly walking in a heavy pounding lightening shower. Recently one trekker lost his life at Charmadi height... What to say ?

    There are people to do a SHOW after the incident....
