Nasik, Jul 30:
The construction activities of Panchavati branch of Udupi Pejavar Mutt in the temple town here, are in full swing and nearing completion. The new premises of the Mutt will be dedicated to the society shortly.  Soon, the local citizens and devotees would be able to avail of all the modern facilities provided at the newly built spacious branch of Pejavar Mutt here, informed Pejavar Mutt Mumbai branch head Ramdas Upadhyaya.

It is believed that Lord Rama had spent the last phase of his life in wilderness, at the historical temple here, in the mythological era.  The construction of a branch of Udupi Pejavar Mutt, at this historically important place and pilgrimage centre, has been undertaken, to meet the demand from innumerable devotees, various Tulu – Kannadiga organizations and also the local community.  Pejavar Mutt’s branch here has been named ‘Panchavati Sitaram Pratistan’, that is under construction on a plot of land owned by Pejavar Mutt, near Panchavati Dental College, here.  The Mutt will strive to provide all basic facilities that are essential for offering of the puja by innumerable devotees, with special emphasis on the south Indian way of performing religious rites and Tulunadu traditions and customs, added Ramdas Upadhyaya.

The foundation stone for the construction of the local Pejavar Mutt here was laid by Sri Vishweshateertha Swami of Udupi Pejavar Mutt, in May 2007, in the presence of local dignitaries and devotees. The construction is under way, under the supervision of architect Ashit Ranadive and Suruchi Ranadive., informed Prakash Acharya Ramakunja of Pejavar Mutt.

Spacious parking areas for the visiting pilgrims and residential quarters are coming up. Lift facility has been installed for the convenience of elderly pilgrims at the local Mutt.  A large Area has been specifically set aside for performing oblations and other Vedic rites and rituals. Vegetarian dining facility will also be available at the branch Mutt here, informed building overseeing chiefs Hari Bhat and Niranjan of Pejavar Mutt, Mumbai branch.
