Mangalore, Aug 6: In the warm coastal belt of Karntaka, fog is a novelty, seen only on rare occasions. As we move east towards the Western Ghats and across, the fog becomes more frequent.
The monsoon has been weak since the last few days, although rain does visit the coast in patches, leaving the day humid and warm. On Thursday August 6, as Sphoorty strolled out early morning at Ullal in the city outskirts, expecting to get drenched in rain, there was no rain. Fog had enveloped the landscape, hillocks, roads, trees and everywhere else. A few morning walkers were found enjoying the unusually cool morning, while the vehicles had to slow down because of visibility problem. The birds too seemed to enjoy the changed atmosphere.
Instead of melting and drenching the land with rain, the clouds seemed to have made up their mind to visit mother earth and feel its touch. It was an unusual sight, and as the sun rose in the east, the fog had no other option but to make way, leaving back its memories, as recorded by Sphoorty's camera.
