Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (ANK)

Mangaluru, Oct 25: A traffic police was assaulted on duty by two men here at Nanthoor circle on October 24. The two accused were arrested later.

Police arrested Irfan (31) from Sampya and Abdul Azeez (52), resident of Krishnapur.

Traffic constable Yathish was on duty at Nanthoor. A car bearing registration number KA 19 MK 2529 was obstructing the traffic and causing traffic jam at the Nanthoor circle area. When the policeman asked the driver to stop the car, the driver did not stop. Hence, the policemen took the photograph of the car.

The driver of the car, who noticed the police constable taking the picture of the number plate, used abusive language at the cop and also assaulted him along with the co-passenger.

A case was registered at Mangaluru east police station in this regard.

Public has to respect the traffic rules. The policeman has every right to stop a car which is not following traffic rules and also has a right to take pictures. I feel these people who are abusing the policeman need to be arrested and taken to task. People must respect the law agencies Feel sad for the policeman who has been very decent here and even respecting the offenders

Ha Ha Boda Sheera . Hats off to the police for arresting those 2 Rouge's . You 2 Rouge's keep ur arrogance in ur home not in public Road .If you are bad police are ur dad .In that video we can see that the 31 year old youth is bit up on his limits to some extent but the 52 year old man is abusing the and challenging the police call anyone . The police in respond arrested those Rouge's and broke their arrogance by revealing their details like name and age . That old man taught that he can be Hitler of Mangalore by raising his voice just like he raise in his home .But failed to realise the power of Police . Wat those Rouge's taught that they can break any rule and no one can question them . Obstruction the traffic rule. Not stopping the vehicle when asked to stop . Realising the fear and consequences when their pic is clicked as part of legal traffic procedure . Creating their own story like all time blaming traffic police assaulting all stuffs and trying to be Hitler .Nobody gave u a dam .Everyone can raise their voice not only u guys . Respect the law of this country and love your motherland . Also this is BJP Govt bare in mind and bare ur limits .

I think if a duty officer hits someone than he has the right to hit him back.. it doesn't matter if he is on duty or not on duty.

Ha Ha Boda Sheera . What you both guys taught . You can Raise ur voice and assume that police or people will will be scared of you Ha ,no one will give u a dam . Hats of Police for arresting them . In that video above we can see that the 31 yr old youth is in limits to some extent I mean I dint see he abusing the police .But the 52 year old man was abusing and daring the police to call any one .Old man taught that by utilising this kind of abusiveness and raising voice to call any one he can be a Hitler and people will fear him , no one will give him a dam .Look how soon they were arrested and their names and ages we're revealed . Very Very Very well done police .
You guys were Obstructing the traffic over that not stopping ur vehicle when u are asked to stop and eventually when ur pics were captured legally as per traffic law , you guys realising the consequences immediately create ur own stories as usual that the cops hit you and try to raise ur voice abuse all .No one gives u a dam . Respect those Traffic police those who work morning till night on every peak time without looking at the any circumstances . You guys keep ur arrogance in ur home or show somewhere where really injustice is going on . Does police constable has an authority to arrest? If so, he can lay hands on the accused and use all the force to take him into custody. If not, it is illegal for the constable to even touch the accused. Every citizen deserves respect and dignity especially when they are with family. If anyone lay hands on my father or mother in front of me, I would react the same way. Even this police constable will do the same thing, if his parents are assaulted in front of him. Things can be solved using judgement based on common sense and not based on arrogance of power or money.

Some people think our lovely Manguluru is Pakistan. Poor police have to face these ill mannered people who always break law. Their crime rate is increasing day by day. They will park anywhere and block the traffic as if it is their ancestors road. Public has to suffer because of these people.

Having said all and watching the video, these two guys needs to live in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait or Oman to learn how to talk to Police man on duty. They will melt these guys Charbi in just a day. Unfortunately our rules, judicial and whole law enforcement system is toothless and good only for poor man on the street.

whoever done this to policemen on duty,is certainly wrong.Even police too are not saints in person. They too are not supposed to attack citizens.Respect on both sides is a must.Citizens too are not there to receive from police.Same time people too must follow traffic rules.Roads are not there to show their muscles.

There is CCTV nearby... let the officers investigate well ... mangaloreans never raise their voice untill someone has hurt them badly. Whoever it is mangaloreans are always cool. And I have experience for small issue also traffic police speak in abusive language without thinking for a second. Their job may be tough but then they have to manage their emotions. Sometimes it's really difficult for drivers or riders to drive too, no proper signals, only hand gesture, block and heavy rain. Traffic police have to understand all those issues. Driving in mangalore without proper signs it's so tough. .let the officers take the matter and solve it. Hope things solve peacefully.

Sir have you gone through nantoor circle on a day without cops ?
Just because the police took their photo they are yelling and yes there is CCTV for police to verify , if the cop is guilty he should be punished too but my brothers who were shouting abuses deserve punishment and that is they have to manage traffic for 2 hours in nathoor in rain

These 2 in videos throwing abuse deserve punishment and the best punishment would be to serve at nantoor circle for 2-3 hours if possible in next 2-3 days when it's pouring heavily. If not for these cops nantoor circle is a mess.

The policeman had to click the picture of the car when the car didn't stop. When the picture was taken, they realized the gravity of the situation which may have led to altercations and the constable laying his hands on the senior gentleman. My only question is Mr Abdul Munim..why didn't the car stop ? You cannot first disobey and then argue on the reaction. Why cant we simply follow rules. What do you think if the same thing would have been done in Middle east. What would you have done if a police clicked your vehicle in Saudi or uae or any other middle east country.? We know that in India we as a general public can get away with anything just like that. The same person will wait for hours in front of the police with folded hands in any Middle east country.

Practically speaking, without provocation, these guys would not have assaulted the police. The police must have used abusive language or tried to act like a dictator.

If these guys have done it really, then they should be punished. However, I am also a resident of Bejai in the city and have seen that as the days go by, with the new traffic rules, the arrogant nature of traffic cops is also increasing.
Most of these cops are from Ghatta areas and trying to boss around the well-mannered public of athi buddivanatha jille.
When there is unnecessary force exerted by the cops, protest must be done, but in a proper manner. Assault is not correct. But I have a doubt that these people might have been framed also.
Certain cops take revenge against minority community also for even minor offence when majority is left scot free

I have faced issues because of my minority identity. There are chaddis in police force also. Do not forget. You will not understand as you do not belong to minority.

I do not say all, but there are in every department, who just hate muslims just because we are muslims.

I have seen many people in Mangalore are not respecting the police and they try to flee when the police constable stops. When they do their duty why people have to be arrogant. Problems are there from both side.
