Udupi: Continuing rains- Holiday declared for schools and PU colleges

Udupi, Oct 25: Due to continuing rains, the deputy commissioner of Udupi district has announced holiday for schools on Saturday, October 26. 

October 25 was also a holiday for the schools in the district due to rains. 

The rains continue in the coast. The metrological department had predicted heavy rains on October 25 and 26. 

Dakshina Kannada (DK) district had announced holiday for Friday, October 25. 

Regarding October 26, no announcement has been made yet from deputy commissioner of DK district.

    Such type of intermittent heavy showers do not warrant a holiday! Yesterday, unlike day before, there were only intermittent heavy showers lasting average 15-20 minutes unlike a cloudburst!
    IMD predictions have miserably failed!

    BTW, I think the heavens are crying seeing the current state of affairs down! This type of rains ruining entire Diwali celebrations may not have happened before!!

    But, here it rains continuously dear.. followed by breeze.. One shower followed by another continuously... ...some areas heavily raining ...some areas with the gap... Kinnigoly side flooded on Thursday... Wells are full... Whatever it is we can't protest against nature... Only tolerate it.

    Only if one "walks the talk", it'll happen, but it's not so; rampant destruction is going on in the name of development!
    Last week about 2300 trees were hacked in AAREY milk colony in Mumbai despite huge protests by all sections of people, many even were arrested for protesting!

    BTW, what's the use of any development at the cost of clean air, water, & food??

    Read how Bhutan has one of the best environment quality in the world!

    Yes... I read about those 2,300 trees cut at Aarey milk colony... !! Really sad to know.. I don't understand in the name of development assassinating the nature Roshan... I agree with rest of your points mentioned in your comment ..
