Bengaluru: No question of dropping NRC in state - Home minister Bommai

Bengaluru, Oct 25: Home minister Basavaraj Bommai said that there is no question of dropping National Register of Citizens (NRC) campaign in Karnataka. 

Speaking to the media persons on this matter, Bommai said, "I have already given clarification on this subject. It is 100% sure that NRC campaign will be carried out in the state. There is no question of backtracking from this decision,” 

“Information has been already collected about the illegal migrants in the state. This report has been sent to the central home ministry. There is no problem for any honest citizen living in the state of Karnataka. Information of only illegal migrants and foreign citizens, who are residing in the state illegally, will be collected." 

Bommai also said that police stations will be established in Mangaluru and Udupi to fight against Cyber, Economic and Narcotic crimes (CEN).

    I think the minister only wants to repeat the word NRC and may not be knowing what it is. In Assam and Bengal, the basis was the year 1971 when Bangladesh was formed and anyone entering India after this is bound to be under NRC What will be the basis of Karnataka and other states is it year1947 when India became independent or anything before that. Who will get records of a year before 1947? What about people who have come from other states ?.

    Your intentions with NRC is only to target Muslims as Amit Shah openly admitted about it, so how will it be if entire Muslim population boycott NRC? So will you guys throw entire 30 crore Muslims to Arabian sea or put them in Detention center??

    Intention is clear.
    Threatening muslims with repeated statements about NRC, detention centers etc.. , just to instill fear in their minds.
    They want muslims to live under fear.
    Nobody needs to be afraid of this threatening tactics of central and state home ministers.
    We are Indians and no one can throw us out of our country.
    Follow all the rules of the country and live with dignity.

    If someone from any other country is over staying or staying illegally here, catch and deport them back. That is good for the security of our state and country. And they can do this silently without giving all these threatening statements.
