Dubai: ‘Benddkar’ Konkani movie premiere held – Receives positive response

Dubai, Oct 27: Grand premiere show of Konkani movie ‘Benddkar’ with red carpet and stage, was witnessed by thousands at Novo Cinemas of Ibn Batuta Mall of Dubai on October 25 followed by two shows of Mangalurean and Goan versions. 

MC Uttam Menezes welcomed the audience and invited the guests on to the grand red carpet stage erected in front of the cinema hall for the proceedings. Bollywood actress Varsha Usgaonkar, Goa’s well known star Prince Jacob along with producers Stany Alvares, Dolphie Rebello, Harry Fernandes (also the director of the movie), actors Deepak Paladka, Joseph Mathias, Sunita Menezes, Prem D’Souza and Shodhan Prasad, distributor Sandhya Creations, were all present during the show. 

 

 

Chief guest Fr Derick Paul D’Souza, priest of St Joseph Church Abu Dhabi along with visiting priests Fr Anil and Fr Joel, blessed the event with prayers. Guests Ronald Colaco, Leo Rodrigues, Ronald Pinto, Frank Fernandes, Nelson Rodrigues, Ronald Martis, Ashish Nand, director Shift Rent A Car, Bev Milhem, GM Diz Group graced the occasion and producer Stany Alvares welcomed them with flowers. Then was the lighting of the traditional lamp by all the guests while a group of Brass Band Benddkar played live music on the stage. Fr Derick, Ronald Colaco and Frank Fernandes spoke on the event congratulating the Benddkar Team and blessed the event. Stany Alvares rendered the vote of thanks and the live band continued wherein people kept on dancing to the rhythm making the inaugural function a day to be remembered in the history of Konkani movies. 

On the occasion a beautifully designed exclusive magazine ‘Benddkar’, which contained the details of the artistes and the movie was released by the guests and distributed to all audience. 

For the first time in the history of Konkani movies, Benddkar, which is made in both Mangalurean as well as Goan dialects screened separately in different theaters. 

Konkani movie fans cheered as the movie was shown in two theaters and around 1,000 people witnessed the show on the first day. All the audience, both from Mangalore and Goa, enjoyed the movie thoroughly. 

Glimpses and reviews of the audiences were well captured after the show and it is learnt that all those who have watched the movie gave real positive comments and congratulated the team for producing such a wonderful movie. The encouraging reviews were a great honour for the whole Benddkar Team for their efforts in presenting a well-themed social movie on the life of Benddkars.
