Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Oct 27: The police, who took a rowdy sheeter for spot inspection in the city, had a testing time when he attacked them with the weapon in a bid to escape. The cops had to shoot at the legs of the rowdy in order to capture him and also to prevent any further harm.

This incident occurred on the morning of Saturday, October 26 near the Abbigere lake in the city. The police of north division had taken a rowdy sheeter to the spot inspection to recover the knife and the bike he had robbed on September 26.

Harish, the rowdy sheeter, had assaulted a shopkeeper in Dasarahalli and robbed him near the ATM of a bank. The whole incident was captured on the CCTV of the said ATM. The Peenya police caught Harish on the night of Friday, based on the visuals of the CCTV that was installed near the ATM where the assault and robbery took place.

On the morning of Saturday, October 26, police inspector of Peenya Mudduraj and two constables of the station Lakshminarayana and Ravi had taken the accused Harish to the vegetated area near the lake, where the accused said that he had hidden the bike as well as the knife used for the crime.

As the accused was showing the knife to the police, he grabbed the same and struck both the constables. Seeing the act of the rowdy, police inspector Mudduraj fired a shot in the air to warn rowdy Harish to put the knife down. But the accused went on attacking the police constables. Inspector Mudduraj had no other option but to shoot at the right leg of the accused.

Both the injured constables as well as the rowdy sheeter were taken to a private hospital later. They all are said to be recovering now.

Harish is an infamous rowdy sheeter, active member of a gang, which operates in the Nandini Layout police station limits. He is involved in several murder and robbery incidents and 10 cases are registered against him in Nandini Layout, Rajagopalnagar, Peenya and six other police stations.

First of all I dont understand why the rowdy sheeter after so many murder cases and other delictes why still roaming outside.?He should have been long back behind safe four walls. Why shoot in the air instead of shoot at his hand so that knife or weapon falls down.Hope atleast now he will be arrested. and punished.
