Mangaluru: Samson Cutinho who killed his sister Fiona is a drug addict

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Oct 27: Police took Samson Cutinho, who killed his sister Fiona Cutinho, to the place where he had dumped his sister’s body after killing her using a hammer.

It is also gathered that Samson is a drug addict.

The place where Samson dumped the body is half a kilometer away from the house where the family lived. The present house of the family is located opposite Infosys in Mudipu. Francis Cutinho, father of Samson and Fiona, shifted to the present house after selling his original property six months back.

Samson has revealed that he killed his sister Fiona who was sleeping at that time and then he dragged her body holding the leg for a distance of around half a kilomtere. Mother was away on duty as she worked for Infosys and father was also not at home when the murder took place.

Samson was debarred from his college recently for some indiscipline. After that he remained at home most of the time and smoked ganja. He was not talking to anyone. As he was using the mobile phone a lot, his father had taken it away from him two days back. But Fiona was allowed to use her mobile phone. Because of this it is suspected that he killed her when he was under the influence of ganja.

Samson’s girlfriend is a rape victim

It is gathered that Samson’s girlfriend is a rape victim. A person named Rajesh was arrested by Konaje police for rape on her in 2017. It is said that Samson was disturbed after that and became a ganja addict. He always remained alone and did not talk to anyone.

Investigation angles

The mobile phone records had revealed that Fiona was chatting with a boy one year older than her from Mangaladevi. After that the police subjected the boy into interrogation as he had sent her many messages even after she went missing. Police came to know subsequently that the boy was no ways connected to the crime.

Catholic Sabha Mudipu had complained to the police commissioner to speed up the search for Fiona.

Earlier Samson was spotted twice on Netravati Bridge. The police, who had spotted him there, had dropped him home.

MLC Ivan D’Souza and MLA U T Khader visited the house of Francis Cutinho and consoled the family.

Francis Cutinho revealed that his son Samson had accused that father himself had killed the daughter.

The scenario in Mangalore is frightening. Drug dealers seem to be operate freely in all university campuses and hostels from Mangalore to Suratkal to Manipal. This is more frightening since they are operating with police support and political patronage. Before we blame only Samson Cutinho or his family, let's also question how the drug mafia has spread its tentacles to Mangalore and its adjoining areas and what is the police doing about it. Are the police and politicians protecting the bigger drug lords?

Unless the root cause of the drug problem is not found, we will see more Samson Cutinhos committing such crimes

That is the reason w e are taught and told that consuming alcohol is a sin. It starts with a glass of beer which is fine. But it does not stop there, on the contrary it increases the consumption and it ends up with a murder or accident. If people cannot handle themselves, it is v important that they refrain from alcohol and say NO to drugs.

Ganja is a naturally occurring medicinal plant. In India it's used mainly for recreational purposes, meditation. But youths misuse it by consuming spiked. In some states its legal to consume Marijuana and crime rate is also low.
Firstly Hard drug's should be completely banned.
Samson might have consumed nitrovate Tabs which is illlegally available or Hard Drug's to get this violent. Or he might have consumed spiked Ganja which isn't pure.

Pure marijuana is required to keep volcanic erupting Bajrangdal and some Violent Temporary Gangs Cool. At least some of them.
*** Not All murderers are Drug addicts and Bevdas .

Its really very unfortunate. Also its an alarm to society that, drugs can swallow the whole family joy. Parents need to give more time on children. But we are in the race of money making. Our money hunger will never be satisfied. Even they are young or grown, we need to spend time with our children. Because now a days, children's became very sensitive like egg shell. But we only concentrate on their degrees & we ignore their personal feelings, Even Samson looks brilliant student, so that he is doing engineering. But might be past incident make him week & became drug edict. Even victim Fiona also had boy friend on her 16 year age..?? Come on, where we are going on our ethics of culture. Parents became ATM of children. Please give all your time to kids, because your money cant wakeup your children from grave.

Ganja/Marijuana addicts are not violent. Something is very 'convenient' about the accusation.

Exactly. Ganja is a feel good drug and not make anyone violent. Alcohol is much more violent than ganja.

Both ganja and alcohol make you think indifferently and in almost all the cases makes you violent. Stay away from both. Small amounts of alcohol consumption is okay

I feel pity for the parents of present generation kids.. they don’t listen to anyone and they do their wish. And spend money of parents in lavish manner.!!
Parents bring up your children by teaching them Gods teachings!!
Later you cry no use at all. Teach them how difficult to earn money.. give them some work to do by themselves..

Marijuana / Ganja is not addictive. Other harder drugs are addictive.
Alcohol is an addiction. There are some who have to drink atleast 2-3 pegs a day.

Given reason to assume that some bad influence has stuck this family!
Son is drug addict and mentally abnormal.
    Brother took daughter’s life away.
How the parents will continue such abnormal events and happenings are
taking place in the family. Samson's life is on thresh hold of total disaster.
The family needs counselling and prayers not to lose faith.

All due to attachments and addictions to drugs, alcohol, mobile, porn, games...

Once affected only daily and persistent prayers such as All 4 mysteries Rosary can bind these types of darkness spirits or evils and set one free.

Rehabilitation centers seems to be useful but sometimes there are chances of recurrences. Also need to avoid occasions to these types of evils.

Another solution is, affected individuals to think or to say I love those bad habits as when tempted, instead of landing in a prison, To Surrender them to God as God is Love. God would definitely help one overcome it over the time as nothing is impossible to God.

this incident clearly tells us that drug addicts are extremely dangerous to be kept in normal family environment.
there are several incidents in the past also, for the sake of buying the drug, they do not hestitate to kill their own mother, father and siblings.

If anyone has any member in the family who is a known drug addict, please shift them to counselling centres or else you will be living dangerously.

Very sad that innocent budding young girl lost her life.

to be punished him because he killed the innocent girl, and parents to be alert and give some time to their children to make them happy atmosphere and need to monitor them.

any way in every religion we need to talk about this drug addict subject and we need to think how to solve it.

unemployment, social disharmony and huge migration to D K from northern states and also our neighboring state...all these are big factors in drug mafia entrenching itself deep in society....

The issue is he was a troubled man and somebody should have been aware and taken him for psychology counselling much earlier.
