New Delhi, Aug 10: It's barely a week since starlet Rakhi Sawant got engaged to Canada-based businessman Elesh Parujanwala in a televised 'swayamvar', but the two are now set to play mom and dad on the same TV channel.

Rakhi and Elesh, who met on the reality show "Rakhi Ka Swayamvar" on NDTV Imagine, will go through the challenging experience of parenthood on the new show "Pati, Patni Aur Woh". Four other celebrity couples will also participate in it.

Right from living the life of an eight-month pregnant woman to taking care of an infant, a toddler, a teenager - the show will see Rakhi doing it all. The format is inspired by international reality show "Baby Borrowers" and is being produced by BBC Worldwide Productions India.

With children participating, their real parents will be behind the scenes to monitor how the celebrity couples take care of them.

"With 'Pati, Patni Aur Woh', audiences will see these famous couples in real life situations and be part of their first journey into parenthood, sharing their joys, sorrows, trials and achievements.

"We believe that the show will not only resonate with all audiences and will also be a great fun experience for the younger generation that plans to start their own families in future," said Shailja Kejriwal, executive vice president (Content), NDTV Imagine.

The other couples participating are Shilpa Saklani-Apurva Agnihotri, Juhi Parmar-Sachin Shroff, Mouni Roy-Gaurav Chopra and onscreen couple Gurmeet Chaudhary-Debina Bonnerjee. They will spend an entire month in a closed environment, monitored by cameras 24X7.

Throughout the series the couples will also have to entertain relatives and guests, perform ceremonies, take part in other activities like parties and picnics and ensure that the kids finish their homework - all within a limited budget.
