Bantwal: Traffic ASI manhandles bike rider for not wearing helmet

Bantwal, Oct 31: In a shameful incident that occurred in the taluk, traffic police showed their arrogance on a bike rider, who was not wearing helmet while riding the two-wheeler. 

Traffic police ASI Balakrishna is the one who pulled he rider of the bike by collar. 

Pillion rider was not wearing the helmet. ASI Balakrishna, who noticed the offense, stopped the bike. During the course of the argument, ASI Balakrishna was seen holding and pulling the collar of the bike rider.

 

This incident took place at Melkar market of the taluk. Some other bike rider recorded the full video of the incident and has shared the same on social media. Now this video has gone viral. 

In the video the rider of the bike is asking the traffic ASI to file a case on him. But the ASI shows his arrogance and pulls the youth by his collar. 

This behaviour of the traffic ASI is being condemned by the public on social media.

    I have seen him faced him many times he is very disciplined and strict police
    We need this kind of police specially to handle youth who are not following traffic rules. Ofcourse they wil be arrogant when you follow and you argue with them for your mistake

    Police raj or goonda raj? Why did the cop act so rudely?No body can take law in their hands, for that matter be it a cop. He should simply have registered a case, thats it.

    Most of the times, traffic police insist on original RC, DL, Insurance certificate etc. rejecting notorized copy of these documents. Notary publics are also appointed by government just like Traffic police. Traffic police should accept the attested copies as it is a valid document and if they are rejecting, they should clearly mention in the traffic fine challan stating that 'Notary copies are not valid'

    Cops have so much pressure..it's not easy being a traffic cop..
    Easy to blame them..
    If they are unnecessarily harassing, when your right, it's ok

    the first photo shows the bike rider threatening the police...his hand with finger pointed and gesture on face and mouth wide open with threats...if case there was no second policeman, this ASI would have been manhandled by the bike rider...

    Before changing the traffic fines by just watching the movie and implementation of the same to action you also need to look at the condition of the roads as per the movie our govt has just a look on the fines so that there will be a lot of improvement but we just see roads with potholes which makes hard to drive a good thing is that there is no speed limit fixed like other countries with min and max speed fixed with all those potholes i just think whats the use with the toll gates they just loot people? And our so called people's govt thy even loot them, if there are toll gates there should proper conditions of roads else it's better to stop asking for toll and stop paying let them repair the road and later with all ourheart and soul everyone will pay toll happily

    Both should be punished. First the rider for arguing with the cops and for not following the safety rules, secondly the ASI for his rude behavior.
    The entire India should follow a strict rule and it should be the same rules to all the states. Law and Order is become a joke in India, well they are following the dogs.

    Sainik mangalore now dont go out of the way.What has traffic rules to do with roads.?

    First rider had not worn helmet.just because of this he should wear helmet during riding.otherwise he himself is in danger.First breaking rules ,second argue with traffic police,almost threat ?Whos is here rider and who is police?One should learn first some normal manners.Even Police has no need one person to touch ,leave alone to pull with his shirt.He can only either give him a notice or let him go after paying punishment.our Indian police are self not following rules.

    When stopped for traffic violations, police should explain why he was stopped. Give him an advice what happens to the riders without helmet, if they meet with an accident. Show them some pics of accident victims. Then gently give him a ticket.

    Manhandling is totally uncivilized and unacceptable. General public should strongly protest manhandling of citizens. No civilized country does this. We still follow British police mentality.

    Any action taken against the erring ASI?. This was a provocation for taking law into one's own hand. Police need to be trained accordingly.

    The picture tell only one side of story. Police will not manhandle when they can fine the person. May be he used abusive language against the police for booking him.
    Why are people have great liking for violating rules is a mystery.

    Lot of news coming these days of traffic police using abusive words and manhandling. I think a mass protest against traffic police by public should take place to keep their rowdy behaviour in check. Wearing khaki does not give right for anybody to hit anybody. Law should be upheld in a proper manner.

    Police raj and gross violation of human rights. ASI may have targets on fine for the day and he has reasons to get upset if the road user challenge him to file a case. The progressive society is looking towards Police Commissioner who has initiated lot of citizen-centric initiatives.

    Police too should not over react. Just for helmet...he can not manhandle. Police can file a case but can not behave this way! I guess no one will support such behavior from police. Some Police are soft on influential and tough on ordinary people.
