It is my duty to welcome good statements from HDK, says CM

Bengaluru, Nov 2: Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa has welcomed the statement by former CM H D Kumaraswamy, who said the ruling government should not be toppled during the time of floods.

Speaking during a TV interview on the eve of completing 100 days after forming the government, Yediyurappa said it is his duty to welcome good statements by Kumaraswamy.

When asked on the CM’s earlier statement that his main aim is to defeat the JD(S) father-son duo, Yediyurappa said that he meant the statement at that time. However, now the father-son have mellowed down and hence the statement is not applicable now.

“The statement by Kumaraswamy is favourable for us, our party and the people of the state. Therefore, I welcomed the same,” he clarified.

Asked if there are chances of forming a friendship pact with JD(S) after the by-polls, Yediyurappa said there is no question and need to do the same. “I will not go to JD(S) forgetting my prestige. We will win by-polls and come to power with majority seats,” he said with confidence.

Slamming opposition leader Siddaramaiah, he said that Siddaramaiah’s statements have no significance. “Why do you value his talk? I will not compromise with JD(S) the way Siddaramaiah said. None of the parties are opponents for me under democratic setup. I will work for all under ruling party,” he said.
