Shivamogga: Shocking WhatsApp status of ASI – ‘British and BJP are scared of Tipu Sultan’

Shivamogga, Nov 3: In the midst of tug of war between the ruling BJP and opposition Congress in Karnataka about celebrating or not celebrating Tipu Jayanti and also removal of his lessons from school curriculum, an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) of police has sent shock waves by posting a statement in favour of Tipu Sultan. 

Shabbir Khan, ASI of Soraba town police station is the person who has displayed ‘arrogance’ by posting a status on his WhatsApp account, which is not in the right taste for a government officer. 

On his WhatsApp account, the ASI has posted in question and answer style status in which a teacher asks "Gunda, who is Tipu Sultan?", to which Gunda replies, "Tipu is the person by whose name the British and BJP people wet their pants." 

BJP is furious at the post of this police officer. The BJP activists are saying that a police officer, who is in a responsible position in society, should not give one-sided statement. Local BJP activists are urging the administration to sack this officer.

    Have you not read about him in social studies when you were a kid ? Everytime you had this question Who is the tiger of mysore ? Hindus Muslims and christians unanimously said Tipu Sultan.Why didnt christians oppose tipu sultan 15 20 years back .Why from past 7 8 years.? Why did cheddiyoorappa go to tipu s function and wore costume supporting Tipu Sultan ? Shame on Us for letting our minds getting corrupted by these politicians for their gains.

    Since Tipu Sultan was at war with the british more or less continuously between 1780 to 1799, the frequent support for the British seen in Coorg and Mangalore made him put down those PRO-BRITISH forces violently. Again Any ruler in his place would have done the same, even today no ruler pardons enemy's supporters.
    Krishna Rao, was Tipu sultan's Treasurer, in other words Finance Minister, Shamaiya Iyengar was his Minister of Post and Police ( Home Minister), Ranga iyengar too was in his cabinet, and Purnaiya held the very important post of Mir Asaf. Moolchand and Sujan Rai were his chief agents at the mughal court and his Subba Rao was his chief peshkar. Please compare Tipu with today's BJP rule, and see how many muslims were given ministerial berths?

    I don't think the sub-inspector was wrong! Truth in current scenario is always bitter. people in responsible position should not give one sided statement!! Then what about our politicians? Are they not doing worse than that? It is a case of kettle calling the pot black..wah wah.

    If nathuram godse' s name would hv mentioned instead of tipu, then
    there would be hundreds of thousands of supporters for this police offcicer(ASI).
    ASI would have received many awards and also BJP ticket
    for upcoming elections .

    No ruler supports the people who do conspiracy and support his enemies. Tipu too used force in Mangalore and Coorg against the people who supported British.
    All his key ministers were upper caste Brahmins.His generous endowment to major Hindu temples and monastic orders in the state are well recorded. The best example is 10 day Grand Dasara celebrations continued with a member of Wodeyar royal family presiding over the festivities.
    In 1791 raided Sringeri Math, killed and wounded many people including Brahmins, plundered the monastery of all its valuable possessions, and desecrated the temple by displacing the image of goddess Sharada, Tipu ordered the Asaf of Bednur to supply the Swami with 200 rahatis in cash and other gifts and articles.
    The reason for hatred towards Tipu is not based on facts, but due to RSS agenda and vote bank politics.

    @Peacelover, India, tippu & hyder were propogaters of islam. hence he destroyed many churches & temples. i justify dat if people were pro british he killed christians & hindus. y den destroyed temples & churches & built mosques. produce more children & say islam is growing faster!!!!!!!!!?????????

    First of all.-tippu was not a pakistani nor he wore saffron shawl and roamed around eating gutka like mawalis.
    He killed rodents who were licking brithishers boot and those who pacified brithishers by selling them their women in return for monetary benefits.
