Mangaluru: Mysterious death of woman at Permude - Husband held, case registered

Mangaluru, Nov 4: A woman, identified as Larifat from Permude near Bajpe here had died on Saturday under mysterious circumstances. It is reported that in connection with her suspicious death, her husband was arrested by Bajpe police on Sunday, November 3.

The arrested man has been identified as Altaf alias Kanchi Altaf, residing at Bhatrakere, Permude. He was arrested on the charge of abetting suicide. He has been charged under sections 306, 498 A and 34 of Indian Penal Code. Bajpe police said that in addition to Altaf, case has been registered against five members of his family.

Larifat was found having committed suicide on Saturday afternoon. Her parents had developed suspicion about causes of her death and complained to the police.

Reportedly, Altaf currently is employed at Qatar and had come home three days back. On Saturday, he had left home to bring vegetables. On his return in the afternoon, it is said, he saw Larifat's body hanging from a noose. Bajpe police have taken up investigation. The mortal remains of the lady were buried at Krishnapura at around 3.30 am on Sunday.

Larifat from Krishnapura seventh block had married Altaf on November 18, 2018. But their married life was not happy. Therefore, Larifat had begun to live at Krishnapura. A few days back, Altaf had started to communicate with his wife and informed her that he had planned a visit to his native place. He reached his house at Permude after alighting at Kannur airport on October 31. On Saturday afternoon, Larifat's family got to know that she had ended her life. Larifat's family members claimed that Altaf's character is not good and he is addicted to drugs. They had claimed that Larifat found it impossible to live with him, but she wanted to have a family life soon.

Larifat was a brilliant student and was a B A graduate. She used to tutor needy students at home. Her relatives said that she was not feeble-minded and therefore she would not have ended her life. They feel that this is a systematic murder.

    All this could have avoided if parents had before marrying her a bit taken information about the boy.In this community mostly parents do the match.Just because he was working in gulf doesnt mean character ,habits too are good.People dont push your child into burning coals from a pan.So long it is not clear that he is the accused,one should be careful to tell he is the murderer.A bit strange is he goes to buy veg.second day and find she is hanging on his return.Did police atleast investigated properly whether body was already cold or still warmetc?was it possible he went to buy veg.only to give a alibi?after hanging her?May be family or he wanted to get rid of her and get married to another?if she wanted to suecide she would have done it before his arrival.why wait ?Afterall she wanted to have family.May her soul rest in peace.Heartfelt sympathy to her family.Punish the person who is cause for her death.

    To all those who are married and absolutely can't live with eachother, be aware that they is something called DIVORCE. Nobody has the right to kill or influence anybody to kill self. Get seperated, live and let live.

    Best option to get out of problematic marriage is divorce. Don't commit suicide as Almighty does not forgive the one who commits suicide.
