Kundapur: Kota double murder case - Five accused get bail

Kundapur, Nov 5: Five persons named as accused in the murder of Yatish Kanchan and Bharat Poojary at Manuru, Kota on January 26 this year, which has come to be popularly known as Kota double murder, succeeded in getting bail.

Judge of the additional district and sessions court here, Narahari Marathe, sanctioned them bail on Monday November 4.

Those who got bail in this case now are Santosh Kunder, Mohammed Taufiq, policeman, Veerendra Acharya, Pavan Ameen, and college student, Pranav Rao.


Yatish Kanchan and Bharat Poojary

Relating to the case, 18 persons were arrested. Out of them, the high court had granted bail to Raghavendra Kanchan and Ritish M Karkera in July. With the current bail, seven persons have got bail in the case so far.

Pranav, Pavan and Santosh were represented in the court by advocate, Ravikiran Murdeshwar. Shantaram Shetty from Udupi had appeared on behalf of Veerendra Acharya, while Hammathi from Hejamadi argued the case on behalf of Taufiq.
