Mangalore, Aug 17: For the fourth successful consecutive year, St Vincent Ferrer Church Valencia celebrated Konkani Day with pomp and glitter on Sunday, August 16 . 

Veteran Konkani writer,. Edi Netto, was the chief guest. He congratulate the parishioners for being the role model for other parishes.

Inter ward group singing and group dance competions were held.  Prem Kumar, Roshan Martis and Assuntha Pais were the judges for singing and Anil Spinoza, Merula Gibson and Snehal Spinoza were the judges for the dance competition.















 
 
 

12 parishioners, who have served in the field of Konkani literature and performing arts for over 25 years, were honoured by the chief guest. Patrick D担ouza, convener of youth welfare committee, introduced the distinguished personalities.  The artists and  writers  who were honored are, Dolphy Saldanha, Dolla (Adolphous Cutinha), Cyril G Sequeira(CGS), Raymond D辰unha (Pingara), Richard Sequeira and Melwyn D但lmeida of Memori Comedy group, Joyce Ozario, Joe Martis, Flavia Sequeira, Gregory Menezes, Joseph Baretto and Dolphy Pinto.

'Haldikolyacho Patholyo', a delicious item prepared by the parishioners in their respective wards, were served to all those present.

Fr Bonaventure Nazareth, parish priest; Fr Maxim Rosario, assistant parish priest ; Arun Raj Rodrigues, vice president of Parish Pastoral Council, Flavia Sequeira, secretary of PPC  were present. Agnes Rodrigues compered the programme, while Molly Pinto, convener of cultural committee, proposed vote of thanks.
Over 1,500 people witnessed this colourful programme.

    Dear parishners,It was excellent a celebration among conducted so many in performances. The parish priest and his asst. are very enthusisatic for spiritual,cultural, social ,welfare activities.
