Bengaluru, Nov 16: The overall worth of M T B Nagaraj, the disqualified rebel, who has now joined BJP and is contesting from Hoskote constituency have increased by Rs 160 crore in just 18 months. In the affidavit he submitted to the Chief Electoral officer while filing his nomination on Friday, November 15 he has shown his net worth as Rs 1,223 crore, whereas it was Rs 1,015.43 crore during the assembly elections that were held in May 2018.

But the most interesting part is that a whopping 53 bank deposits each above Rs 90 lac were made within five day period of August 2 and 7 of this year. This alone amounts to Rs 8.76 crore. Incidentally, this was the time Congress-JD(S) coalition government collapsed due to the rebellion of 17 MLAs of Congress and JD(S) and Nagaraj was one of them.

M T B Nagaraj's fixed assets are spread over 193 bank accounts between him and his wife. While the FDs in his name amount to Rs 13.56 crore that on his wife's name are Rs 32.40 crore.

Nagaraj has 93 parcels of non-agricultural land in Hoskote, K R Puram, Whitefield, Mahadevpura, Puttur and Kottur. Wedding halls, an educational institution and commercial building in the post Indiranagar, Magrath Road and Richmond Road in Bengaluru are part of his immovable assets.

One separate deposit in July indicates Rs 1.16 crore. Nagaraj has shown his movable assets as 419.28, while that on his wife's name is Rs 167.34 crore. The self-acquired property of the BJP candidate is Rs 417.11 crore and the inherited is Rs 2.64 crore.

The inherited property in his wife's name is Rs 27.50 lac, while self-acquired property in her name is Rs 189.14 crore. Nagaraj has joint loan with his wife amounting to Rs 1.57 crore, while his self loan is Rs 27.90 crore.

BJP's stand of giving ticket to M T B Nagaraj has not gone well with its party workers. This move of the BJP has fired back badly and has led Sharath Bacchegowda to go away from BJP and contest as an Independent candidate from Hoskote.

While Nagaraj's wife owns a Porsche car worth Rs 1.72 crore, his own fleet of high-end cars include Land Rover, Bolero, Benz, Fortuner, Prado and Hyundai I10. All these are worth Rs 2.54 crore.
