Bengaluru: Ex cop Annamalai to appear on silver screen - Remuneration Re 1

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Nov 18: Former IPS officer, Annamalai, who had won the hearts of the people with his sincere, strict and honest functioning style as a police officer, and left his job as deputy commissioner of police to embrace social service, will shortly be seen on silver screen. He would be accepting a remuneration of only one rupee to feature in the said movie.

Annamalai will be applying greasepaint in the film, 'Arabbi' being directed by Rajkumar. This film is being made to depict the life and achievements of K S Vishwas, who rose to be an excellent swimmer in spite of not having hands. Vishwas is from Bengaluru.

Vishwas himself will don the lead role in the movie. Annamalai will appear as the swimming coach of Vishwas.

A function was held at Vivekananda College, Puttur, on Saturday November 16 for the audio release of this movie. During the participation of Annamalai in this function, the film team requested him to act in the movie. Annamalai immediately agreed to their request. He said he gave his consent for the proposal as the movie is about a para swimmer. He added that he wants to inspire the society by acting in a film on the life and achievements of a differently abled swimmer.

The director of the movie said that the team wanted Annamalai to be a part of the cast of the movie but they had not been able to contact him as he was abroad. He said that during the function at Puttur, the matter was raised with Annamalai where he readily agreed to act after listening to the story.
