Kerala woos Tulu as K’taka dozes . Mangalore: Even as Karnataka government drags its feet to introduce Tulu as an optional subject in schools, the Kerala government has already started a certificate course in Tulu at a Kasargod government college. In addition, Kerala will introduce Tulu language textbooks for sixth standard from the next academic year. Experts feel that Karnataka’s delay might allow Tulu to be influenced more by Malayalam than Kannada.

The Karnataka government has been sitting on the proposal to introduce Tulu as an optional language in schools even though content for textbook is ready. Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy President Dr Paltady Ramakrishna Achar is not amused by these developments. He said even as Karnataka dilly-dallied, Kerala has procured textbooks for the certificate course from Academy. check this link http://www.bangaloremirror.com/article/10/2009081720090817111901218f8ebf8ea/Kerala-woos-Tulu-as-K%E2%80%99taka-dozes.html
