Polya Lakshminarayan Shetty Conferred Yaksharaksha Award

Mumbai, Aug 24: Ajekar Kalabhimani Balaga, Mumbai and Karnataka Sangha, Mumbai jointly organized a programme to felicitate Polya Lakshminarayan Shetty and conferred him with Yaksharaksha Award at Dr Visveswaraya auditorium Matunga (West) here on Saturday August 22. Nadalola, a commemoration volume in honour of Shetty was also released on the occasion.

Mumbai University Kannada department former head Taltaje Vasant Kumar presided. Karnataka Yakshagana Academy chairman Kumble Sunder Rao, Tulu and Kannada litterateur, Dr Sunitha M Shetty were the chief guests. Vidwan kairabettu Vishwanath Bhat blessed the occasion. Polya couple was felicitated and Shetty was handed over Rs 1 lac and memento as part of the award.



Seetarm R Shetty, honorary editor of commemoration volume and kalabhimani balaga president Ajekar balakrishna Sheety were present on the dais. Ujire Ashok Bhat delivered the felicitation address and Ashok Pakkala compered the programme.

Veera Abhimanyu, Veera Babruvahana and Tataka Samhara by the child artistes of Chinna Bimba troupe and Subhadra Kalyana, a Yakshagana talamaddale episode was presented as part of the cultural entertainment programme.
