Kadaba, Nov 27: A forest guard working for Panja range in Mangaluru forest division, reportedly died after some unidentified poisonous creature bit him. He has been identified as Bheemappa Illala. When he was on night patrol in the forest, some poisonous creature bit him. He was admitted into a private hospital at Mangaluru but he breathed his last there on Tuesday November 26, reports said. 

Bheemappa was from Kamatagi village in Hungund taluk of Bagalkot district. He had served Indian Army for about 17 years before seeking voluntary retirement. He joined Nelyadi branch of Paja range as forest guard in 2009 and was serving there since then.

He used to stay in the forest department residential quarters at Nelyadi with wife. He is survived by wife, four brothers, and three sisters. 

After postmortem, the body was taken to his native place, Kamatagi. The funeral is planned for November 27, it is learnt.
