‘Varuna Japa Yagna’ Aims to Please Rain Gods

Sri Sankara Mattham organized a ‘Varuna Japa Yagna’, a special ‘pooja’ to please the rain gods, at Matunga on Wednesday August 26.



Governor S C Jamir on Wednesday August 26 receives Vice President of India Mohammed Hamid Ansari at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, here.  Minister Dilip Deshmukh was also present to receive the Vice President.  Ansari was in Mumbai to attend the graduation ceremony of the 52nd batch of the trainee scientific officers of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) at Trombay and to give away the Homi Bhabha prizes.



Jamaat-E-Islami Hind–Maharashtra on Wednesday August 26, announced their election policy in a press conference.  General secretary Shaikh Matin, president Najar Mohammed Madhu, and vice-president Maulana Riyaz Ahmed Khan were present on the occasion.



A miniature model of Chhatrapati Shivaji Memorial at Marine Drive was unveiled by chief minister Ashok Chavan along with deputy chief minister Chhagan Bhujbal at Mantralaya on Wednesday August 26.
