Mumbai, Sep 7: Konkani Bhasha Mandal, Maharashtra unit celebrated 17th Konkani Manyata Divas at Dr Vishveshwaraiah auditorium at Matunga (West) here on Saturday September 5.
The children of the members of the mandal were distributed scholarships and talent awards. Skits, ‘Stree Maalyal’ (Women kingdom) directed by Chandrashekar Shenoy, written by Kalyanpur Madhusudan Bhat and presented by GSB Konkani Kala Triveni Sangam troupe, Ghotala directed by Riyo Rosa, member of the organization, Graph and Simh Jalen Gaadanv by children who participated in Konkani daij camp left the audiences entertained.
Mandal president P N Shanbhag presided. Bharat Cooperative bank (Mumbai) Limited assistant general manager Vivek S Shanbhag, Konkani Sabha, Mumbai president Lawrence D’Souza, St John College of Engineering and technology executive president Albert D’Souza, Karnataka Sangha, Mumbai honotrary treasurer B G Nayak, Konkani playwright Kamalaksha Saraf and Walter D’Souza Jerrymerry were the chief guests.
