Bantwal: BJP Spearheads Protest against Alleged Police Atrocities

Bantwal, Sep 9:  Former MLA K Padmanabh Kottary led the protestors, who staged a demonstration in front of the rural police station here on Tuesday September 8, alleging that the policemen have been committing atrocities on innocent youths and women.

Villagers Lakshmi and Dayanand from Kumudelu area of Pudu village in the taluk had, through a police complaint, alleged that Rajeet, Kishore and Bharat of the same village had used derogatory remarks about the cast to which they belong. The protestors said that the policemen, without properly getting to know of the facts or making enquiries, stormed the house of the concerned without notice at night. They also stated that the policemen used filthy language against the women folk of the family and behaved indecently, besides arresting the innocent persons and mentally torturing them.

Taluk panchayat president Babu Mugera, BJP leaders Sulochana G K Bhat, G Anand, Govind Prabhu, Devadas Shetty, Ramdas Bantwal and several others participated in the protest. Assistant superintendent of police Chandragupta came to the spot and held discussions with the protestors. The protestors dispersed after he promised to inquire into the issue and initiate suitable action.

    Police attrocity to BJP, kottari must be joking !!!! then just imagine what other should tell, about police barbarism ? this is just showing how they can manipulate or misled their power. people or media should not divert from real picture. kottari is out of business and want to return now.
