Sirsi: Christian Federation : No Scope for conversion - Ronald Colaco

Sirsi, Sep 9: Federation of Karnataka Christian Associations president Ronald Colaco inaugurated FKCA’s taluk branch office here, recently.
St Anthony’s parish priest Fr Paul Sequeira blessed the new premises and graced the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Ronald Colaco explained the objectives of FKCA. He also expressed concern over the apathy of both state and union governments, in not granting prominence to representatives of minority community in the cabinet, although Christians are engaged in social service and hospital care of poor and downtrodden, in the country four many centuries.
Colaco said that the taluk office of FKCA was set up, in order to provide information of various schemes meant for minority communities by both union and state governments. The assistance of FKCA is essential to raise voice against the ongoing atrocities on Christians committed by communal forces across the nation, stressed.
Colaco also announced that Christians have liberty to join any political party, while stressing that FKCA will not provide scope for conversion, he said.
FKCA state convener Denis D’Silva said that the FKCA aims to promote brotherhood among various sections of Christians.
Monsignor Samson urged the support of all denominations of Christians, to take up their issues at the taluk, district and state level.
Fr K Samuel and Pastor Jacob also spoke on the occasion.
Monsignor Simon Tellis, Fr Paul Sequeira, Denis D’Silva, Anthonyswamy, Fr K Samuel, Pastor Jacob John and president Samson D’Souza, were the chief guest.
Taluk branch president Romanv Fernandes welcomed the gathering. Secretary Agnel Fernandes proposed the vote of thanks. Treasurer Simon Menezes compered the programme.
