Mangalore: KMC Hospital to Observe 'World Health Day'

Mangalore, Sep 12: In tune with its tradition, Kasturba Medical College Hospital in the city has informed, that it would be celebrating the annual 'World Heart Day' that falls on September 27. The theme for this year's World Heart Day is 'Work with Heart' and accordingly, the hospital will be organizing different programmes.

The Hospital has said, it will be offering a concessional cardiology screening package from September 14 to October 14 for the people on this occasion. The patients who need further work up, will get concessions on the additional investigations and treatment, it has informed.

A drawing competition will be organized by the hospital on September 19 on the theme, 'Work with Heart' for the school children, which will be in two groups. The prizes offered are Rs 3,000 Rs 2,500 and Rs 2,000.

The World Heart Day Run will be held on September 27 at 7.30 am. The run will start at the KMC Basic Sciences Centre at Bejai and move via KSRTC, Lalbagh, PVS Circle, Bunts Hostel Circle and end at KMC Hospital, Ambedkar Circle, where a valedictory function and prize distribution function besides felicitations will be conducted. On the event day, a placard competition will also be held during the run, with the theme, 'Work with Heart', the hospital added.
