St Joseph’s Konkani Association Celebrate ‘Noven Jevan’ with Traditional Spirit

Mumbai, Sep 12: St Joseph’s Konkani Association Mira Road Celebrated the ‘Noven Jevan’ programme in traditional manner at St Joseph Church Community Hall, Mira Road here, recently.

St. Joseph’s Church parish priest Fr Dominic Vas inaugurated the programme and assistant parish priests Fr Michael M. Shenoy, Fr Deepak Thomas, Fr Ivan R D' Souza, Fr John Pinto and Sr Pushpam, principal, Holy Cross Convent School, Mira Road along with association office-bearers John Crasta, president, Canute Menezes, secretary, Lawrence Mathias, treasurer and Joy Paladka, cultural secretary.
  


Baby Riola Mathias performed prayer dance. Small children offered flowers to Mother Mary after which Fr Dominic Vas conducted traditional prayer and distributed the Noven to Mr Francis Aranjo and Sebastian D'Souza followed by distribution to all.  

As part of the entertainment programmes, Arun Noronha and group presented humorous skits, Celine D’Souza and group presented beautiful dance, Diago, Denis, Agnes, Calisth and other members of the association presented melodious songs.

The programme concluded with Lavdate, sung by the members of St Joseph’s Konkani Association.

    I attended the function. It was really nice. Prayer was also given importance. Dance by the members was really good. Hiladabai, you reaaly dance well. Arun you are really good actor.
