Kuwait, September 13: The “Kuwait Canara Welfare Association” (KCWA) under the presidentship of Rudy D’Souza celebrated the feast of their Patron beloved Mother Mary (Monthi Fest), on Sunday 13th September 2009 at the Holy Family Cathedral premises in Kuwait city.
The program started with blessing of new harvest (Novem) at 4:15pm by Fr. Melvin D’Cunha. Visiting priest Fr. Clifford D’Souza offered Holy mass in Konkani at 4:30 pm. The blessed grain and dates were distributed after the mass.
Traditional fellowship dinner was served to more than 3,000 gathered devotees with mouthwatering Mangalorean vegetarian dishes prepared by Little India/M & M Caterers. KCWA follows this tradition every year during first Sunday after nativity feast considering the holiday for domestic servants who do not get a chance to attend any programs which are specially conducted during weekends. Every year the attendance for the program increases tremendously which is a proof of its popularity and sign of people in gulf missing traditional feast of homeland.
It gives me great joy to inform you that we have received overwhelming support this year too and on behalf of the members of utive & Management Committee, I would like to thank Bishop of Kuwait Rev. Camillo Ballin, Rev. Fr. Melvin D'' Cunha, all the sponsors & donors who have contributed generously to this event and also to all our ever willing volunteers who rendered their valuable service.
May our heavenly Mother intercede for each and every one of our families, friends and to all our dear ones who serve in the name of KCWA in all possible ways. I also thank Daijii World for their good coverage
