Siddaramaiah lashes out at CM for withdrawing ex-gratia to Mangaluru families

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Dec 25: Former chief minister Siddaramaiah Wednesday December 25 took to Twitter to criticize chief minister B S Yediyurappa for backtracking on his earlier announcement of ex-gratia to the families of the two people who died in the recent anti-CAA protest in Mangaluru.

"You have passed your judgment even before the investigation is complete. You have declared that the two people who died in the shootout are responsible for the Mangaluru riots. Then why have you ordered a CID probe to investigate the shooting incident? Instead of doing unnecessary drama, kindly stop the probe,” Siddaramaiah lashed out.

He also termed the Karnataka government as ‘inhumane’ and ‘cruelly communally’. "With your statements, it is very clear that you are responsible for ordering the police firing," alleged Siddaramaiah.

Siddaramaiah’s tweets came after Yediyurappa declaring on Wednesday that the two killed in the police firing were among the accused in the incident and compensation can be announced only if the duo turn out to be innocent during the investigation.

On Monday, the state government had constituted a magisterial enquiry and CID probe over the Mangaluru violence. Meanwhile, on Sunday, the chief minister’s office had announced a compensation of Rs 10 lac to the families of Jaleel and Nausheen who died in the police firing. However, Yediyurappa stopping the compensation contradicts the CID probe he himself ordered, pointed out Siddaramaiah.

Compensation for riots? Are you serious? As always Siddu is making a fool of himself and his party . What sort of a leader is this guy?? , On the other hand any one would tend to agree with Yeddy here, The Constitution gives right to peaceful protest and not the the right to destruction of public property and vandalism in in the name of violent protests. All this compensation will be then recovered from our tax money. Your fundamental rights ends when they infringe on mine. No way Mr, Siddu.

Stone pelting is as dangerous as Police firing.
Stone pelting can cause fatal injuries.
When someone pelts stone at the Police, what do we expect them to do?
Just defend/ throw stones at the rioters / or Fire at them.

All states should follow the example of Yogi Adithyanath of UP.Damages to properties should be recovered from those who indulge in destruction, even if their properties are to be attached for the purpose. Those who do not have any property should be behind the bars.

No problem .People Not only from Mangalore but all over KARNATAKA are very happy with Yediruappa decision , Congress and JDS leaders were embarrassed yesterday when the CCTV footage were been exposed and truth had come out .

We all mangalore people are thankful to police because they stopped hooligans from harming much more thing .Hats of Police ,Hats of BJP Govt . People all over Karnataka are happy with Yediruappa decision . Sidhu and JDS leaders are trying to play vote bank politics but we dint expect that it will go to such level that despite of watching CCTV footage visuals they are lashing at GOVT .

We Mangalore people knows how we felt about the situation , How police saved us . Hats of to police and Govt .Also Yediruappa said after investigation result if they are innocent they will get the amount from Government .Let the investigation complete .

Saurab, we stayed in our house and supported the bill, we didn't throw stones. First tell them to protest peacefully, not to destroy public properties and throw stones on police.

You mean to say that police should allow these people to torch Police Station. And loot the ammunition kept there. And use that to kill innocent peoples like what happened in Kashmir.
