Mangaluru, Dec 26: Srinivas Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre (SIMS & RC), Mukka conducted an interactive session with high school students of CSI, English Medium School, Haleyangadi.
73 (9th and 10th) standard students interacted on a one-to-one basis with MBBS students of SIMS & RC (boys to boys and girls to girls).
The agenda of the meeting was on lines as per the Build India Movement Initiative of NGO- Unnati Healing Foundation in collaboration with the department of Education and RGUHS, Karnataka.
In the first session, the idea was to understand adolescent issues in high school students. For this, MBBS students of SIMS and RC were sensitized beforehand by the departments of Forensic Medicine, Psychiatry and Community Medicine along with the NGO.
The areas of adolescent issues covered briefly pertained to academic, peer, addiction, bullying, sleep habits, peer pressures, addictions, bullying etc. Good vibes were noticed by the school authorities, MBBS and school students. Assessment of the information collected was done and feedback given to the students and concerned guardians in the sessions that followed.
