Mumbai, Sep 28: ‘Yuva’, the debut film of Karthik Shetty, a promising Kannada actor based in the metro, which was screened across Karnataka in June, has completed 100 days.
In order to mark the milestone, a ‘Guruvandana’ programme was organized by the actor at Vishveshwarayya Auditorium of Karnataka Sangh, Matunga (West), here on Saturday September 26.
Karthik offered obeisance to his mentors Prakash D Shetty, director of Chandraprakash Theaters for nurturing his childhood interest in acting, Cheetha Yajnesh Shetty, director of ‘Yuva’ for his training in action fights, and also Prakash Vidhoorji for imparting special training in acting.
The programme was presided over by Chandrashekar Palettady, editor of metro based Kannada daily ‘Karnataka Malla’.
Internationally-renowned astrologer and Vastu consultant Ashok Purohit also graced the occasion. Veteran Yakshagana artiste Surendra Kumar Hegde was the chief guest.
‘Yuva’ movie heroine Madhu Sharma, villain Chandrashekar, stunt director Milind Gawli, Sriram Mouly, and actress Chandravati Devadiga were the guests of honour.
Karthik’s parents Vijay and Sujatha V Shetty as well as grandparents Bhoja and Yashoda Shetty were also honoured on the occasion.
Karnoor Mohan Rai welcomed the gathering and compered the programme. Journalist Sridar Ucchil proposed the vote of thanks.
