Ajay Sawhney, Partner, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas noted that the rail and air schemes would play a pivotal role in achieving the objectives of the 16-point laid out by the finance minister.

"If formulated and implemented well, these schemes will be the adifferent set of solutions' that the agriculture sector has been longing for." he added.

While the plan may take time to take off the ground, observers feel that with the support of the Railways and Civil Aviation ministry, there could be encouraging results at the ground level.
