Mangaluru: Murderous assault by gang leaves BJP activist seriously injured

Mangaluru, Feb 6: In an incident which happened at Munchoor located within Suratkal police station limits during late night hours on Tuesday, a gang of four launched murderous attack on a BJP activist and posed him death threat.

In this incident, Yashodhar (28) from Munchoor was left injured. He has been admitted into Padmavathi Hospital here.

Yashodhar happens to be an active worker of the BJP and used to evince lot of interest in strengthening the party's organizational structure locally. It is said that this had angered others.

The gang had also a grouse against Yashodhar because he had worked hard for the BJP during the previous assembly election. It was observing his movements and attacked him when the opportunity came its way, it is said.

The attackers have been identified as Diwakar, Dinesh Shetty, Ashwith Kulal and Yashodhara Agaramelu. All the four have been absconding after the incident.

Suratkal police have registered a case, and are searching for the accused.
