Mangaluru: Miraculous escape for car from falling into ditch near Pumpwell

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, Mar 5: In an incident that occurred near the Nirmal Service station close to Pumpwell flyover, the driver and passengers of a car escaped from a serious accident, due to providence.

A Kerala registration car got stuck into the ledge of the minor bridge, which prevented it from falling to a deep ditch. This road is very narrow and the road work on other side is not complete, due to which people accessing this road are driving through danger every day.

These roads are constructed in such a way that there is no pathway for pedestrians to walk and not enough space for vehicle drivers to negotiate the traffic.

Public have urged NHAI and related authorities to wake up and complete the road works before another major accident takes place on this road.

It might be recalled that a person lost his life in a car accident on Pumpwell flyover within few days of the inauguration of the same.

Look at kankanady circle... they dig the road for drainage repair more than a month back. After completing the repair work corporation didn't do anything to the road. More than 20 meters length road left with huge pits without putting back the asphalt.
    This is our smart city.

Trump president of the USA should visit Mangalore for a total revamp of the city. This is really dangerous travelling to Pumpwell only killer roads. Our elected representatives go to developed
countries for some study tours and gain no knowledge utter waste of tax payers money. The service roads are so narrow and dangerous.

Dylan Mangalore, Your comments make no sense at all. Why you are involving US President in this matter. He visited India at the request of PM Modi and left peacefully. I hope you got it right. Always make comments to the point.

It is the wisdom of our BJP party that a ledge was made by side of the bridge. That intelligence saved the passengers of the car. Thanks to Nalin Anna and team.

What a miraculous escape.I just blame first of all the person who blessed the design of this bridge without giving a second thought.Or was not at all seen?Went everything under the coverage of money?without a prevention border at the sides and so narrow as possible these roads are built inclusive bridge,a normal Engineer should have thought of it first.second who gave ok on this plan .As Jossey said whether it is a smart or idiot city ,I say it is idiotic smart city.

For architectural excellence the structure has to be designed by an architect. These flyovers are designed by so called engineers.
