Davanagere, Mar 8: Former chief minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday Mach 8 expressed his disappointment over the withdrawal of 'Shaadi Bhagya' marriage scheme for minorities by the state BJP government. The populist scheme had been introduced by the Congress government under Siddaramaiah.

Siddaramaiah said that BJP has once again proven to be against minorities by cancelling Shaadi Bhagya scheme.

Speaking to the scribes in the city, the former CM further said, "In Article 14 of the Constitution it is said that no one should be discriminated in our country. But BJP government is against the Constitution of India. Now it has also proved that it is against the minorities by dropping the Shaadi Bhagya scheme."

To a statement by Umesh Katti demanding statehood for north Karnataka, Siddaramaiah said, "It is not right to ask for a separate state. We have fought for 'Akhanda Karnataka'. But when it comes to division of state, it is not right to say that one will resign. Let Umesh Katti fight in the assembly and get more grant for his constituency."

Giving clarification on the statement by president of Ambigara Chowdiah development corporation that Siddaramaiah was going to join BJP in a few days, Siddaramaiah said, "My political fight is for social justice. The statement that I will join BJP is childish and dumb. Those who have political ideals will not join any other political party."

    The 'Anna Bhagya' or 'Shadhi Bhagaya' BJP in ruling Karnataka has objection for the popular schemes enrolled during previous government.

    But interest of the party is only concentrated at 'Triple Talaq Bill' rather than welfare of the minority community.

    Instead of discontinuing the popular schemes it should be covered to all religious group below the poverty line having difficulties match making due financial constraints.

    Whether it is congress,BJP or JD(S) whatever the Bhagyas introduced by the party,which is in the power for particular period is sheer vote bank politics and making the people lazy.Don't distinguish communities like majority or minority.In democratic country all are equal.

    Besides government is extending lots of facilities to the poor people of the state or country but why again Bhagyas. Here it does not come the question of betraying or proving by BJP. What former CM Siddaramayya shedding is crocodile tears just to give build up to his name.That he has done something good for minorities.What about majority people,are they not citizens of India.Why hue and cry.All political leaders are selfish,corrupt and focusing only on one thing that is Vote Bank to attract the people in order to come to the power.

    This is how the "secular" party played with vote banks. Now for CAA suddenly they remember our constitution is secular.
    Yes. You society breaker CM, our constitution is secular for citizens of India and doesn't apply to Pakistan citizens. Go and read again.

    When u were in power, you were blatantly violating secular nature of our society. Now it has come back to bite u.

    Sooner the community sees through your ' Vote Bank ' politics the better for it and the country.
    What minority and majority in this 21 st century !
    Give all communities free and best of education ...I dare you !
    Think of all round development.
    Not freebies at the cost of the tax payer !
    Shading,podi,bistar bhagya and all nonsense !
    If a man is not earning enough to marry ...what big deal in getting him married and pushing the girl to a ditch ...
    Help no doubt ...
    The poorest of poor but to make them self reliant ...not to make them a burden on society ...
    Its all because of this he lost CM bhagya and earned broker bhagya ...

    The Congress party made the biggest mistake by accepting this JDS guys into the party and elevating him to higher ranks like CM. Today he is the sole architecht of the Congress destruction in the state. Anyways good luck, as he launches his party in some constituency in Kerala.

    Due to these Bhagyas , you were rejected from your own constituency and trashed to pulp. You hardly managed to win in another. Next time , like your boss, you too will have to look for a safe constituency to win on Muslim votes. Kerala?

    Don't say how he got defeated. Good work is not a parameter to win elections now a days. Everyone knows how it is won. Nalin Kumar Kateel has proved my arguement when he could manage to win the seat even if he finished a flyover with a delay of 10 years. Udupi MP is one more example.
    You are talking about corruption and your non corrupt leader (not congress) offered CM post to 70,000 crore irrigation scam accused.
    Don't fool people by blaming congress for corruption and discrimination. All parties are same. Only thing they need is power and money. At least Congress had the ability to run the country. BJp is destroying everything everyday- Banks, PSU Companies, and so on

    Dear Nawaz ,the govt is arranging mass marriages . So what is the necey of shadi Bhagya. I think muslims also can avail this facility. About giving rice to matts..it is for the poor students. Thousands of poor students reside and study. Lakhs of students belonging to all communities study there . (Siddaganga ). I came to know that even Muslims study there. A successful Muslim who studied at Siddaganga donates lakhs of rupees to the Matt for the noble cause of education. Like that several doctors ,engineers are there. The contribution does not go waste. Apart from that many temples earn money . So what is wrong in giving back to the people. The report should clarify why shadibhagya is stopped. My guess is they can avail the facility if samoohika vivaha in which govt is spending more money than shadibhagya. The govt will not differentiate the communities .

    If Good work is not the parameter to win then how did UT Khader win ??? So don't give some non sense reason .

    Nalin Kumar or udupi MP are far much better than sidharamaiha . Agreed people criticized them , but same people voted them coz eventually they are far much better than Sidharamaiha .

    That's y he lost in his own constituency .Last time during KARNATAKA assembly election even Ramanath Rai lost due to this only trying to impress one religion for vote .Past 70 years of Congress rule such a corruption all over .That's why they are not in exestince now .

    Why don't we have employment bhagya? In my opinion all bhagyas connected to religion to be dropped. I'm supporting introduction of bhagyas to uplift poor people with employment schemes.
