Virar Shakar Shetty Wins ‘Most Popular Tulu-Kannadiga from Mumbai’ Title

Mumbai, Nov 14: In the contest organized recently by Kalwa Friends here, to elect the ‘most popular Tulu-Kannadiga from Mumbai’, where the winner was decided on the basis of nominations sent through SMS, Virar Shankar Shetty, honorary president of Mira-Dahanu Bunts organization, emerged victorious.

A felicitation was organized by Kalwa Frieds, and the title was handed over to Virar Shankar Shetty, on Saturday last, at Sir M Vishweshwaraiah auditorium in Matunga (East) here. Uppala Kondevoor Sri Yogananda Saraswati Swamiji, entrepreneur Polya Umesh Shetty, well known Vaastu expert Ashok Purohit, Kulal Sangha Mumbai president P K Salian, Kannadiga Journalists Union Maharashtra president, Chandrashekhar Palettady, Kalwa Friends president, Balakrishna Shetty Mangalpady, Mulund Friends president, Suresh Shetty Yeyyady and several other guests were at the dais.



 


Shetty, a native of Chennayabenni of Balkunje village in Mangalore taluk, is the immediate past president of Wasai Taluk Hotel Association. Presently, he happens to be the vice-president of the Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Associations Maharashtra. He has also served as the vice-president of Tulunadu Bunts Wasai taluk. He also discharges duties as the Maharashtra State Special Executive Officer, president of Karnataka Sangha Virar-Nallasopara and runs Hotel Shreya in Virar, a suburb of the metro.
